It’s not about the cash - it’s for the love

Our decks are collab projects with skating artists. Your pre-order makes it happen ❤️. In return, you get top-quality decks with plenty of shape options at a chill price. Every deck in the shop is part of a small, one-time-only batch.

Shoutout to the homies who supported past deck drops: Ungezogen Weimar, Friedrich, Andi, Robin, Hannes, Robert & Jörn – big thanks to you all!

Deck Production Insights

Here’s some info so you can decide whether to support Umme or maybe drop your own decks instead.

  • Love it. More raw creativity – for Umme, for everyone, for skateboarding.

Every deck tells a story – whether it’s shredded by a pro or by you. The story begins with the design.

    Give it a shot – it’s addictive.

  • Annoying. If it’s not about the cash, selling decks is honestly a bit of a hassle.

  • Annoying. A big part of the batch ends up on the shelf at first, because quality production at an affordable price requires minimum quantities.

  • Awesome! If you’re not a fan of selling but have surplus, giving it away is fun. Do you lose money doing it? Math will not protect you from it...

  • If you’re planning to sell stuff, you should consider registering a business.

Taxes are paid on profits—but you need to make some first. However, you still have to report your revenue to the tax office once a year. So far, Umme’s business registration has mostly brought bureaucracy.

One key point: Not all distributors and manufacturers sell to private individuals.

Websites have specific requirements for data and consumer protection if you run an online shop and/or a business.

  • The first production collab happened in 2020 with Jan from B-LAG. Jan Zechmeister runs the B-LAG Skateshop as a passion project and is an all-around great guy. At B-LAG, you can produce privately and get top-notch quality. Just order a B-LAG deck and see for yourself.

Since the Clothespin Deck, Umme has been producing with MDCN. Richie Löffler is a skate legend and runs the shop with his team on an international level. They offer endless options, but you need to be a business owner to access their B2B store.

  • Here’s the cost breakdown for the Lena x Shailoth deck drop. The minimum print run is 50 decks per graphic. For 100 decks, the purchase price per deck for the upcoming drop is €33.22:

    • *Production cost: 30,77€

      • Artist fee: 4€

    • Webshop fees: 2,45€

      • PayPal cut: 3% + 0,35€ per transaction

      • Squarespace cut: 3% per transaction

This means €1.78 from each €35 pre-order deck goes to Umme.

  • If you want to order a deck and maximize your support, place your order via email or DM on Instagram.

You’ll receive an invoice and bank details for prepayment. The price stays the same for you, but the webshop fee goes directly to us instead.

* production cost includes artist fee, blank deck price & print cost
